The 68th Venice Film Festival



The 68th Venice International Film Festival, organized by La Biennale di Venezia, will run at Venice as schedule: 31st August - 10th September 2011.

The aim of the Festival is to raise awareness and promote all the various aspects of international cinema in all its forms: as art, entertainment and as an industry, in a spirit of freedom and tolerance. The Festival includes retrospectives and homages to major figures.

Festival’s Opening Film: The Ides of March, written and directed by George Clooney.

Italian actresses Vittoria Puccini, winner of the L'OrĂ©al Paris for Cinema prize at the 67th Venice Film Festival, is the host of the 68th Venice International Film Festival’s Opening and Closing nights.She will open the 68th Festival during the inauguration ceremony on the evening of Wednesday August 31st on the stage of Sala Grande


The Golden Lions and the other jury prizes of the Festival’s Venice 68 Competition will be announced on 10th September.

Delhi 48HFP 2011

The Delhi 48Hour Film Project, will be held at the India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, Delhi.

Partners: Filmbooth, TATA Docomo and the Hindustan Times

Inaugural day: Friday September 2, 2011
Closing: Sunday September 4, 2011

The 48 Hour Film Delhi Project is opening on the weekend of September 2. Filmmakers from all over the Delhi area will compete to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours.

Last date : The last date for registering for the Delhi 48HFP 2011 is Aug 30. Teams have to make their own arrangements for equipment, editing and other resources.

This year, teams will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Once the initial registration is complete, organizers will accept teams for the Waiting List

Prizes @ The Delhi 48 Hour Film Project 2011:

1) Cash Prize for Best Film-Delhi of Rs. 50,000 from TATA Docomo
2) Chance to make a film/TVC for TATA Docomo's 'Create' platform
3) Selected films go to the 42nd IFFI, Goa in Nov. 2011
4) Best Film-Delhi will win 2 air tickets to Goa to attend IFFI
5) 1 Trophy from 48HFP
6) Best Film-Delhi gets Gift Vouchers worth Rs. 25,000 from Spykar
7) Runners Up & other winners also get Spykar Gift Vouchers

The Launch of Film Writers Association’s official website is an attempt to establish a closer connects with its members, who are spread across the length and breadth of the nation. Website intends to add on columns /communication forums

Features of website:


Writer’s Block: The section features blogs by and interviews of filmmakers, writers and actors.

Register your scripts: Writer can register their scripts by logging into fwa.co.in, the official website of the Film Writers Association.
It is to be noted that Membership is approved only when proposed and seconded by two existing members of the FWA; a process which would require one to be physically present at the FWA office.

Legal Cell: The website has a Legal Cell section to provide answers to queries put forth by writers on copyright law and other legal issues. FWA has got a law firm on board who would act as legal consultants to FWA members

News & Events cell: Members can stay updated on FWA events: workshops, seminars, conferences etc through the website.
