The 68th Venice International Film Festival, organized by La Biennale di Venezia, will run at Venice as schedule: 31st August - 10th September 2011.
The aim of the Festival is to raise awareness and promote all the various aspects of international cinema in all its forms: as art, entertainment and as an industry, in a spirit of freedom and tolerance. The Festival includes retrospectives and homages to major figures.
Festival’s Opening Film: The Ides of March, written and directed by George Clooney.

Italian actresses Vittoria Puccini, winner of the L'Oréal Paris for Cinema prize at the 67th Venice Film Festival, is the host of the 68th Venice International Film Festival’s Opening and Closing nights.She will open the 68th Festival during the inauguration ceremony on the evening of Wednesday August 31st on the stage of Sala Grande
The Golden Lions and the other jury prizes of the Festival’s Venice 68 Competition will be announced on 10th September.
